Associate Lecturer in Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Discipline in the School of
Clinical Sciences has an exciting opportunity

Associate Lecturer position in Pharmacy.
The role of the position includes but is not
limited to teaching and assessment of
academic units of study, assisting clinical
facilitators and other clinical staff working
with students on placement, providing
academic support for students both on
campus and on placement, supervising
students and facilitating clinical learning, and
ensuring the quality of student learning
experiences.

This position reports to the Discipline Lead,
Pharmacy for supervision, workload
management and for Performance Planning
and Review (PPR).

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Coordinating appropriate units of study

where skills and experience demonstrate
this capacity, and teaching across multiple
levels of the Pharmacy and IPE program.
- Facilitating excellence in undergraduate

learning and teaching through the
development and promotion of innovative
learning and teaching methods and
materials, with appropriate guidance from
senior academic staff.
- Providing authentic real-world integrated

learning and assessment.
- Actively participating in unit and curriculum

review and design.
- Contributing to research and scholarly

activities relating to learning and teaching.
- Engaging with industry partners and

professional associations at local, state,
and national levels.
- Implementing and administering University

policy within the Faculty with respect to
equitable access to education and
workplace health and safety.

To ensure job flexibility the successful
- appointee may be required to:
- perform any other duties as nominated by

the University consistent with the relevant
classification descriptors detailed in the
Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking
any new duties will receive training
- work across campuses if required

To be appointed as an Associate Lecturer the
successful applicant must meet the position
classification standards outlined in the QUT
Enterprise Agreement (Academic Staff).

**Type of appointment**
This appointment will be offered on an
ongoing, full-time basis Part-time appointment
may be considered.

**Location
**Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campus.

Selection Criteria
1. Completion of four years of tertiary study in

a relevant discipline and demonstrated
relevant clinical experience; or an
equivalent combination of qualifications and
/ or professional experience.

2. Registered or registerable as a Pharmacist
by the Pharmacy Board of Australia
including full registration in good standing
as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health
Professions Regulation Agency, and
additional certification required for ongoing
clinical practice or clinical supervision (blue
card, CPR, first aid, and full vaccination
including an approved COVID19 vaccine).

3. Demonstrated ability to input into the
development of learning and teaching
resources, and their delivery.

4. Demonstrated understanding of
contemporary practices in pharmacy.

5. Potential to participate in research and
commitment towards engaging in pharmacy
and interdisciplinary health research.

6. Strong organisational and communication
skills with the demonstrated ability to
engage with internal and external
stakeholders.

7. Well-developed aptitude for teamwork and
proven ability to work collaboratively.

8. Demonstrated commitment to teaching,
with recent relevant experience supervising
students in a clinical and/or academic
setting

**Remuneration and Benefits**

The classification for this position is Academic
Level A (LEVA) which has an annual
remuneration range of $83,894 to $113,836
pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary
range of $70,891 to $96,193 pa and 17%
superannuation.
