**Hours**:This Position is part time (0.8 FTE) and will be fixed term until 30/09/2025

**Location**:Position will be based at the Salisbury Library

**About the Role**:
This unique role is part of an innovative pilot project between the City of Salisbury, the City of Adelaide, and Sonder. As a Library Social Worker, you will work closely with library and customer-facing staff, helping them to respond effectively to customers who may require additional support. Libraries remain one of the few public spaces where individuals facing various challenges can access resources and technology free of charge.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist customers by connecting them with appropriate services.
- Support library and customer-facing staff in understanding the challenges faced by disadvantaged community members.
- Equip staff with the skills needed to respond appropriately to diverse customer needs.
- Offer guidance on policies and procedures, and provide situational training and debriefing.

**Experience Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Collaborative development of individualised strategies for clients with complex needs
- demonstrated ability to mentor others and increase their capability
- demonstrated experiences working within a fast-paced environment
- Experience in building and delivering training programs

**Qualification and Other Requirements**:

- Drivers Licence
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- A tertiary education in Social Work and membership with AASW
