**Immediate start required - commencing Monday, 16 June 2025**

You must be available from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with additional time allowed for travel to the client’s location (approximately 35 to 40 minutes). You must also be comfortable supporting individuals with mental health conditions. Other shifts may be available depending on client needs and your availability.

For the specific client we are currently recruiting for, please note that they have a documented fear of males. As such, female applicants are strongly preferred for this position to ensure the client’s comfort and well-being.

However, we continue to welcome male applicants for other participants and roles across the organisation.

**About the role**
We are seeking Disability Support Workers for permanent part-time positions in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. These roles are available for an immediate start.

You will provide support to clients across a range of settings, including in-home care, community access, group programs, and complex care environments.

Support tasks may include personal care, transport, social participation, domestic assistance, and behavioural support. You must be reliable, professional, and committed to providing continuity of care.

Consistency is critical. Clients rely on us to attend scheduled shifts and provide stable, trusted support. We require staff who understand this responsibility and can be relied upon to honour it.

**Mandatory availability**:

- You must be available from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on designated weekdays
- You must allow 35 to 40 minutes for travel time to the client’s location
- You must be comfortable and competent in supporting clients with mental health needs
- You must be available to start work from Monday, 16 June 2025

**Essential requirements**:

- Valid and unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Australian National Police Check
- You must notify management immediately if you are taking any prescription medication that may impair your judgement or your ability to perform your role safely and effectively

**Additional required clearances (can be obtained with guidance)**:

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Familiarity with the NDIS Code of Conduct and participant rights

**Responsibilities may include**:

- Personal care and daily living tasks, including showering, dressing, toileting, grooming, and meal support
- Manual handling, including safe use of hoists and mobility aids
- Mental health and trauma-informed support
- Community participation and transport to appointments or activities
- Domestic assistance such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Supporting participants to build confidence, life skills, and independence
- Accurate completion of shift notes, incident reports, and required documentation
- Clear communication with participants, families, care teams, and allied health providers
- Participation in training, including mandatory updates and client-specific learning

**Important information**
This is not a standard 9:00 am to 5:00 pm role. Support work is based on participant need and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and overnight shifts. Rostered shifts are determined in line with client schedules and staffing ratios.
