**Position Information**:
Bexley Public School has 11 mainstream classes and 3 inclusive education classes. It is situated in the Beverly Hills Network in Sydney. It is a school which fosters strong community connections to promote the importance of education. There are currently 256 students with 1% identifying as having an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background and approximately 83% having a non-English speaking background. A major focus for teachers is collaboration, high-expectations and student engagement. Teachers work together to foster a quality learning environment that reflects our school values. Bexley Public School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school which contributes to a positive school culture of Active, Safe and Respectful learners. Our teaching staff are engaged in collaborative practices that enhance our teaching and learning practices through analysis of data and planning at the point of need for students. The school embraces the varied backgrounds and recognises that we stand on the traditional lands of the Gweagal, Bidjigal and Gadigal people.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary:
Approval to teach infants and primary with demonstrated capacity to work as part of an executive team and balance exemplary classroom practice and management skills within the complex Assistant Principal role.

Ability to initiate, lead and build teacher capacity in the implementation of high-quality literacy and numeracy programs underpinned by evidence-based research and data.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication with the whole school community with capacity to lead and engage a collaborative team, building positive, inclusive and trusting relationships.?

Demonstrate the ability to foster the connection between student and staff wellbeing, learning, and achievement, to enable improvement.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
