This position, funded by the Victorian Early Leaver Connection Initiative (VELCI) Career Advice Service (CAS) and hosted by The Gordon Skills and Jobs Centre, provides personalised career guidance and support to young individuals, including compulsory school age early school leavers aged 16 and under and early school leavers aged 17 - 20 at TAFE non-school providers.
This role focuses on empowering youth to explore career pathways and develop transferrable skills in a safe and supported environment to assist with preparation for post-secondary education, training or employment. It will include conducting one-on-one career transition interviews, providing advice on education, training and employment opportunities and pathways and referral information. Facilitation of youth-focused careers workshops and group sessions may also be required.
Central to this role is collaboration with secondary schools, TAFE secondary and VET pathways teams, external service providers, community organisations, employers and government agencies to ensure participants have the tools and support they need for career success. This position will be responsible for building strong and positive relationships and will require someone with exceptional communication skills and the ability to relate well to a diverse range of clients.
