**About the role**:
The
**APS6 Risk Officer - Fraud and Controls Advisory** is responsible for developing controls to mitigate risks and facilitate improved risk awareness and training, reporting on emerging risk profiles and trends.

Additionally, the
**APS6 Risk Advisory** will provide detailed technical, professional, and operational support and advice in relation to complex problems as well as coordinate and assist in contributing to highly complex, sensitive projects or work programs aimed at achieving the Agency's mission.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Reporting key findings, observations, trends and emerging risks to corporate committees and leadership networks.
- Developing project and business risk plans to enhance fraud and compliance prevention and detection mechanisms.
- Undertaking fraud risk assessments and reviews to identify areas of potential exposure in relation to fraud risk and developing strategic initiatives to mitigate risks.
- Identifying issues and opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and management of fraud risk.
- Gathering, investigating and analysing information and data from a variety of sources and business systems and proposing control improvement strategies.
- Managing projects relating to fraud prevention and control, providing support across the organisation to ensure an ongoing commitment to eliminating fraud and sharp practices.
- Maintaining the Agency's Fraud Risk Register and Controls Library
- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Risk Management or similar (eg. Fraud Investigation, Business Management, Business Development, etc).
- Experience working in a similar role under Australian rules and regulations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, and high-level Excel usage
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Current Police Check, or ability to obtain one.
- Risk management experience, ideally with fraud risk identification and analysis.
- Strong stakeholder management/engagement ability.
- Highly analytical with a great attention to detail.
- Project management experience is preferred.
