**What you will be doing and will be responsible for**:
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Fundraising and Communications Manager is responsible for leading a comprehensive and integrated communications strategy for Flinders Foundation that aligns with organisational plans and objectives.
The Fundraising and Communications Manager leads a small team and works collaboratively with the entire Flinders Foundation team to provide strategic advice and support on all communications matters and for developing and growing the individual giving program and contributing to the success of all fundraising programs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive and integrated communications strategy, including annual content plan, for Flinders Foundation.
- Manage all written and digital communications on behalf of the organisation, including fundraising and supporter communications, impact reporting, website content, video production, media releases, speeches and other communications.
- Manage Flinders Foundation brand, style and identity and establish guidelines that are embedded across all communications strategies.
- In partnership with other team members, develop and execute the annual plans for fundraising campaigns and appeals and other communications for all donors and supporters.
- Manage the production and distribution of various direct mail, newsletters, surveys and other donor and supporter collateral and communications for new donors and to existing donors.
- Provide leadership to team members to implement campaigns effectively and successfully.
- Manage the updating and refreshing of Flinders Foundation information, signage and collateral across the Flinders precinct.
- Manage all media on behalf of Flinders Foundation, including relationships with media partners, journalist, and media personalities who act as ambassadors for Flinders Foundation.
- Act as primary contact for all media requires and generate proactive media opportunities for Flinders Foundation.
- Establish media performance measures, and develop reports for Board, committees and team meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with audiences across the Flinders Precinct.
- Manage a strategy which increases the presence of Flinders Foundation across the Flinders precinct.
- Manage budgets and financial transactions associated with the Fundraising and Communications portfolio.
- Build a culture of philanthropy through leadership, storytelling and inspiring others which contributes to improve performance for Flinders Foundation and its team members.
- Coach and mentor Flinders Foundation staff to achieve their professional goals.
**‘What you look like’ and need to demonstrate to be successful.**
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role (journalism, public relations, communications or related field) that involved high empathy/service levels to clients, supporters or the community.
- Extensive communications, marketing, fundraising, media management, brand management and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven understanding of digital communications channels and experience in managing and delivering digital-based communications.
- Ability to approach conversations persuasively with stakeholders at all levels and position these in the best interests of Flinders Foundation.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring people and teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience in project/campaign management and ability to deliver against desired outcomes.
- Proven organisational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Successful track record of effective stakeholder management including internal and external relationship building.
- Creative and innovative thinker that uses diplomacy, drive and empathy in developing strategies.
