**The Opportunity**
Our Business Management team’s purpose is to empower customers to confidently shop the largest range of pet supplies in Australasia. We do this with a pet first approach, leveraging the expertise of our vet staff and grounding ourselves in a customer-led culture.
As a Business Manager at Pet Circle, you will have P&L ownership and decision making authority across your category, under the guidance of the broader Business Management functional strategy and objectives. Cross-functional collaboration is critical, both within the Business Management team and our broader business (e.g. with Marketing, Product and Operations), and with our supplier partners.
**What you will be doing**:
- Strategy development:_
- Develop category growth strategies in line with the company’s strategic objectives
- Define and own your product range to satisfy customer segments and needs operating within inventory constraints, leveraging the Buying team to support with new additions
- Develop and execute promotional strategies to grow key categories, segments, and brands in line with your category strategy
- Negotiate trading agreements with our supply partners, aligning on growth plans, building joint business plans, and sharing knowledge of “how to win” with Pet Circle
- Market analysis and business development:_
- Maintain accurate understanding of specific pet needs, customer behaviour, and trends adjusting your category strategy as appropriate
- Maintain accurate understanding of the competitive landscape and its implications on the category and business
- Cross-functional project management:_
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Demand Planning teams to manage inventory, ensuring all customers have access to the products they need and sustaining appropriate inventory levels
- Lead strategic, cross functional projects that extend beyond category boundaries alongside product, marketing, and supply chain
**Your Skills & Experience**:
- Highly motivated, action-oriented individual who is ready to take on tangible P&L responsibility and make independent decisions within a fast moving environment
- Strong commercial acumen with exceptional communication skills and excel expertise
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves, be hands on to achieve outcomes with a “can do” attitude
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with others, both internally (within the Business Management Team and cross-functionally) as well as externally with supplier partners
- Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience in identifying and improving profitability drivers within an e-commerce environment
- Experience in using data driven analysis to identify and solve problems, build business cases, and negotiate trading agreements
- End to end project management including goal setting, scoping, setting timelines, and execution to the plan
- Experience in commercial, strategic, or marketing-focused roles required (eCommerce experience highly valued)
- Experience working with external stakeholders, e.g. in a client facing or B2B role
**Role Location**
At Pet Circle we believe that collaboration and team connection is key for success. This role will be based in Sydney with a blended working arrangement of [2+ days] in our pet friendly offices and the remaining working from home.
