**The Role**
We have several opportunities for qualified Engineers who possess knowledge of nuclear safety and radiation protection principles and experience of working in high-hazard regulated environments. You will need to demonstrate the ability to incorporate scientific, engineering and behavioural reasoning into nuclear safety and radiation protection regulation and licensing.

You will join the Regulation and Licensing directorate within the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Regulatory Design (NPSRD). The directorate is responsible for the stand-up of the regulation and licensing function for nuclear-powered submarines, nuclear material and the associated nuclear facilities.
- Have knowledge of nuclear safety and radiological protection principles.
- Have or be capable of obtaining an in-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks, government decision-making and policy requirements to assist with nuclear regulation and licensing.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and provide advice and recommendations on the assessment and provision of licences for facilities as well as the regulatory audit, inspection, compliance and assurance of facility licence holders related to nuclear powered submarines that fall under the regulatory framework of the future Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator (ANNPSR).
- Actively managing key stakeholder relationships and identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
- Be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

**Note**:Due to the training and development requirements for these roles, international travel will likely be required. We are seeking individuals who are willing and able to work abroad in the United Kingdom (UK) or the United Stated of America (USA) for periods of time which may span anywhere from 3 to 24 months. International travel to other locations may also be required for additional training opportunities (e.g. short courses).
