Huon is looking for a Control Room Operator to join the team in our Hobart Office on a 12 month fixed term contract This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the ongoing success of our Control Room in a dynamic and challenging position.

**The Role**

Reporting to the Control Room Manager, this exciting opportunity will see you play an integral part in monitoring and controlling the daily feeds for our fish pens linked to the Control Room, using cutting edge Pellet Recognition Software. Your responsibilities include:

- Ensuring our fish are fed to satiation without waste.
- Providing timely and effective alerts on any unusual fish behaviour, environmental or equipment related issues to our teams out on the water.
- Reviewing relevant data including feed rates, mortalities, fish weights and bathing to identify fish performance trends.
- Reporting issues with feed equipment or other systems immediately to the relevant party.

This position is a full-time role, operating on a 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off roster.

**About You**
- You have well-developed communication skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate priorities with internal and external stakeholders.
- You have demonstrated ability to adapt, deal with uncertainty and remain calm in a changing environment.
- You are excellent at problem-solving and working in a team environment.
- You have well-developed analysis and reporting skills.
- You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes.
- You ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in science, IT, Aquaculture, Environment, Mathematics, or similar field (not essential).
