- From $133,989 to $141,514 gross per annum (HEW Level 9), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

THE ROLE
The Manager, AI Enablement, will be responsible for leading the establishment of the University's AI enablement capabilities, in line with leading best practices and frameworks. This role will work closely with the IT senior leadership team, as well as key stakeholders in BIR Analytics, OGC, DVC-A, DVC-R, and faculties, and will be responsible for managing the AI Working Group and supporting the AI Advisory Taskforce.
Reporting to the Chief Information and Digital Officer (for the time being), you will:
- In consultation with the manager, lead the establishment, adoption, implementation and continuous improvement of AI best practices, policies, procedures, and tools for the University and entities.
- Work on functional design, process design, prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures, in collaboration with IT teams and University Executives.
- Lead the liaison and provide expert advice to stakeholders and the relevant project teams, including providing feedback to enable team members to make necessary changes in product performance or presentation.
- Partner with stakeholders to analyse and explain AI and machine learning (ML) solutions as well as set and maintain high ethical standards.
- Work with service delivery owners to ensure process awareness and compliance is appropriately monitored and managed including the production and publishing of consistent metrics and reporting.
- Articulate and document AI solutions ensuring the policies, processes, and practices standardise the management and use of AI domain capabilities.
- Participate in service/service provider reviews and provide input about service level agreements and underpinning contract negotiations.
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including Executives.
About You
You will be an experienced IT project manager with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Your specific experience showcases a track record of successful technology project management ideally in higher education sector or equivalent also at least one year of hands-on experience in deploying AI technologies. You are a strategic thinker, capable of aligning AI initiatives with the university's overarching goals, fostering innovation, and enhancing both academic and operational performance.
This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills. You must be a collaborative self-starter, comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and adept at working as part of a team. You must be driven by the results and challenges that come with managing a diverse AI solutions portfolio and possess a methodical, consultative approach to their work. Leadership skills are crucial, as the role will be pivotal in establishing the University's AI capabilities, working closely with senior IT leaders, stakeholders across various departments, and steering both the AI Working Group and the AI Advisory Taskforce towards success. You must demonstrate a commitment to best practices and a keen understanding of the latest AI frameworks to thrive in this role.
