**Job location**

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at Thomas Embling Hospital and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites.

Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital,located in Fairfield, just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women’s unit.

**About the Role**:

- Provide support directly to consumers
- Mentor recovery through the use of Lived experience
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary Team

**Duties**:

- Provide consumers with an understanding of recovery from a lived experience perspective
- Support consumers to develop skills and knowledge within their recovery journey
- Work as part of a Lived Experienced Team
- Group Facilitation
- Work as part of a multi-diciplinary team

**About You**:

- Lived experience of mental health services as a consumer
- Have experience as a peer worker
- Qualifications in Mental Health or willing to work towards.
- Understanding of Person centred practice in recovery

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of three COVID-19 Vaccination prior to commencing work at Forensicare. Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All applicants will also be required to provide evidence of a flu vaccination.
