Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Nutrition Assistant (Allied health assistant) to join a busy Clinical Nutrition Department. The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

**RMH Nutrition**:
The Clinical Nutrition department consists of approximately 35 EFT and 40 staff across RMH sites. We provide care to our patients within the acute, subacute and community therapy services across all specialities. We operate a 7-day service across several clinical areas. As a Clinical School, RMH Clinical Nutrition is recognised as a centre of excellence and best practice for clinical nutrition and dietetics. The Department is supported by the Clinical Nutrition Manager and is committed to providing evidence based, patient-centred care. Wellbeing, supervision and reflective practice, professional development, student teaching, quality improvement and research are key focuses of our team.

**Your New Role**:
The Nutrition Assistant role supports quality nutrition care to patients in collaboration with and under the direction and supervision of the relevant Dietitian, or other health professional as requested. This position will work across both our Home Enteral Nutrition Services and acute General Medicine wards. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Clinical Nutrition team.

**About you**:

- High level organisational skills
- Computer literacy and administration skills
- Organisation and time management skills
- Ability to follows instructions under guidance of the relevant health professionals;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently, modelling of interdisciplinary practice and in co-operation with others;
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal;
- Tertiary education in Nutrition/Health Sciences/ Biological or Chemical Sciences/Food Science/Food Technology or similar is desirable
- Experience working in a health sector or customer facing role
