Venues NSW is a commerically focused agency of the NSW Government, encompassing the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium as well as major sporting and cultural stadiums and precincts in Sydney, Olympic Park, Parramatta, Newcastle and Wollongong. The network of stadiums and entertainment centres host in excess of 5 million people a year at more than 500 events and is a key contributor to the economy.
Venues NSW takes an intergrated approach to our stadia and entertainment centres by developing partnerships with sporting codes, the entertainment and event industry, audiences, local businesses, NSW Government agencies and community groups. Our network throughout NSW allows us to combine internal resources and harness a vast employee skillset all of which helps us deliver key projects and secure outstanding content.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently looking for a first year Apprentice Groundspersons Sports Turf Management to join our Grounds team.
We are seeking applicants who are ambitious and passionate about learning the trade of Sports Turf Management; and will work as part of our Grounds team at Accor Stadium and CommBank Stadium. The apprenticeship provides an opportunity to learn new skills under the mentorship of experienced Sports Turf Professionals ensuring the turf at Accor Stadium and CommBank Stadium is maintained to a world class standard.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this apprenticeship you will have a genuine desire for a career in Sports Turf Management, a passion for horticulture or you may have already commenced some relevant work experience.
This is not your typical Monday to Friday nine to five job. Events run Monday to Sunday, day, evening, weekends and public holidays all year round. If you are looking forward to the challenge of beginning your career in this industry at one of the foundation sites in world sport, then we want to hear from you.
- Completion of NSW School Certificate or equivalent;
- Desire to undertake a four-year apprenticeship completing at Certificate III in Sports Turf Management at TAFE;
- NSW Drivers licence is preferred but not essential
