JLT’s Public Sector in Queensland operates under a long-term contract with the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) to manage LGW, provides financial management, WH&S, rehabilitation, and claims management services to LGW’s 68 member Councils and their employees throughout Queensland. The LGAQ is the appointed Trustee and licence holder of the LGW Workcare mutual scheme under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.

**In this role you will be responsible for**
- Manage a team of WHS consultants and allocate a portfolio of clients to each consultant to assist them in proactively managing workplace health, safety and wellbeing as part of their business service delivery.
- Working as part of a team for key client projects to reduce incidents through proactive WHS and injury management practices.
- Undertaking strategic meetings with our clients on scheme and work health and safety initiatives and mutual obligations requirements for scheme members.
- Developing strategic initiatives to assess benchmarks for work health and safety performance measures and/or monitoring that align with WHS key performance indicators.
- Providing quarterly reports to the LGW Board on clients work health and safety performance.
- In conjunction with the WHS team providing clients with strategic and operational solutions to their WHS and risk management needs, including conducting WHS audits, risk assessments and training.
- Reviewing WH&S, Risk Management documentation and audit tools to align with legislative and standard changes.
- Regularly reviewing WH&S information on LGW website and provided regular amendments to ensure information is consistent with WH&S requirements and provides our clients with accurate and up to date information to assist them in meeting their WH&S obligations.

**To be successful in this role, you will need to possess**:

- Tertiary qualification in Work, Health and Safety mandatory
- Work Health and Safety Lead Auditor qualification essential
- Current TAE(40116) certificate in Training and Assessment
- Current Queensland White or Blue Construction Safety Induction Card
- Current QLD Drivers Licence is required at all times
- Demonstrated leadership with ability to manage teams
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills
- Travel within Queensland will be required

Crucial to your success in this role is the ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, influence and build credible relationships at all levels, both internally and with clients. Strong organisation and planning skills, as well the ability to work with high levels of initiative and to strict deadlines are essential in this role.
