**The Role**

This position reports to the Strategic Planning Manager and is based in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of the role is to assist in the development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives that guide the growth and development of the Hawkesbury Local Government Area, assist in the creation and amendment of local environmental plans, development control plans and other regulatory documents that shape the built environment and participate in community consultation processes to gather feedback on planning initiatives.

**About You**

You will currently be studying a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning and will have already completed your 2nd year. You will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as your strong problem-solving capability. You will be proactive in your approach to learning and be willing to commit to an 18-month training plan with regular milestones needing to be achieved. You will be open and responsive to feedback and be able to demonstrate your interest in supporting Hawkesbury Council’s purpose ‘To build a Hawkesbury that is loved by its people’.

**Essential Criteria**
- Must be currently undertaking Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning, year 2 already completed
- Available to commit to 3-4 days per week
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and professionalism
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
