All West Engineering_**_ is a mining service provider that offers fixed/mobile maintenance, manufacturing and equipment rebuilds for mining clients across Australia. Due to the rapid growth of our company, we are expanding our finance team coming into the new financial year._

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team

This role is based in our Head Office in North Geelong. Reporting directly to the Safety, People & Culture Manager, your place in the team will be fast-paced working across multi companies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
- Collecting, calculating, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information
- Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and reporting on this
- Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income, social security taxes, employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments
- Resolving payroll discrepancies
- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures
- Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Assist in the Compliance of HR and Payroll Platforms
- Support the HR team in preparation of employment contracts and other HR documents

**Essential skills and knowledge**
- Degree in finance or Business would be beneficial but not essential
- Intermediate level of Excel
- Efficient in a fast paced work environment
- Great attention to detail
- A solid grasp of mathematics
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive data
