**About the Branch**

The Early Childhood Improvement Branch ensures a dedicated team supports Early Childhood providers and services in Areas. The Branch has multiple responsibilities, including supporting services with kindergarten programs and the implementation of the suite of Early Childhood reforms including, Pre-Prep, three-year-old kindergarten and the Best Start, Best Life reforms, as well as driving improvement in service delivery and outcomes for children across the Early Childhood sector.

**About the Role**

As an Early Childhood Performance and Planning Advisor, you will ideally hold a qualification in early childhood or have experience in policy and governance. The role requires high level interpersonal, critical thinking and problem solving and negotiation skills. You will build partnerships with a range of service providers and develop the capacity of the early childhood sector to deliver quality programs within local communities, particularly for more vulnerable children and families. Key responsibilities of the role may include:

- establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with funded kindergarten providers and services
- implementing quality assurance measures to ensure that early childhood funded programs are delivered in line with Departmental requirements
- Coordinating and facilitating program monitoring meetings with funded providers
- Providing policy advice and support to funded organisations and be an identified point of escalation for issues and challenges
- Identifying and documenting program or project risks and issues and developing effective management strategies
- working collaboratively as part of a team and support/supervise other team members as agreed with the Early Childhood implementation Branch Manager
- using data and evidence to identify and address the needs of the services as it relates to educationally disadvantaged children
- understanding current research and developments in the early childhood sector, identifying implications and opportunities
