Experienced Sushi Artisan

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual with a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a Japanese restaurant or sushi take away shop. As an experienced staff member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment. Your primary responsibilities will include welcoming customers, preparing food ingredients, deep frying, making sushi rolls, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, serving customers, managing the Point of Sale (POS) system, dealing with problems as they arise, checking stock, and the ability to slice fish (a plus).

Job Duties:

- Warmly welcome customers as they enter the restaurant, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Prepare and organize food ingredients for various dishes according to recipes and specifications.
- Make sushi rolls with skill and precision, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen, cooking utensils, and food preparation areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, accurately processing payments and maintaining transaction records.
- Deal with problems as they arise, resolving customer complaints or issues with a proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Check stock levels regularly and communicate with management to ensure timely replenishment of ingredients and supplies.
- If applicable, the ability to slice fish with precision and expertise will be considered a strong asset.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Japanese restaurant or sushi take away shop.
- Ability to make sushi rolls with skill and precision.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on the restaurant's needs.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Australia.
