**About the Role**:
**As Principal Project Officer, Curriculum you will**:

- Provide high level strategic advice to senior management and clients that supports the implementation of the Australian Curriculum;
- Lead and participate in project teams to undertake project planning, implementation and review to support quality outcomes in schools;
- Scope and develop curriculum resources to ensure continuity of learning for all students;
- Contribute to briefing materials, submissions, papers, reports and correspondence on curriculum, pedagogy and assessment topics;
- Develop and undertake projects with a specific focus on the early phase of learning, guided by the Education Strategy Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student; and
- Liaise with and build positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

**The ideal applicant will have the following key attributes**:

- A deep knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (v8.4 and v9) and contemporary curriculum, assessment and pedagogical practices;
- A deep knowledge and practical experience in evidence informed best practice approaches to the effective teaching and monitoring of reading;
- An understanding of the department's key literacy and numeracy monitoring tools;
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and achieve required outcomes within set timeframes;
- Capacity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders;
- High level written and oral communication skills;
- Experience in working on complex projects to achieve required outcomes within set timeframes;
- Recent teaching and classroom experience (highly desirable).
