**About the role**

We are seeking a senior leader to join our highly regarded Legal, Governance & Compliance (LGC) team as the Head of Legal -Technology and Operations. This position leads the legal team supporting the Technology and Operations (T&O) teams of the Medibank Group of Companies.

**Your impact**

In this position you will be responsible for:

- Leading and managing an engaged team of experienced lawyers, as well as being a visible and engaged leader within the broader LGC team.
- Delivering commercially focussed, cost effective and independent legal advice support to the T&O teams.
- Effectively and efficiently managing workload between internal and external lawyers.
- Being a trusted advisor and principal relationship contact to senior leaders, in particular the Group Executive - T&O and relevant Senior Executives that sit on the T&O Leadership Team.
- Assisting Medibank to operate in accordance with legislative requirements, regulations, internal policies, and to understand legal risks.

**Your Strengths and Experience**

You are a senior technology lawyer with at least 12 years PQE experience with significant people leadership experience. You have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to present ideas and influence at the most senior levels of an organisation. With natural leadership gravitas, you lead through influence and enjoy enabling the success of others. You will also have demonstrated:

- Experience in leading complex negotiations
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent ability to review, draft and edit documents
- Ability to act independently and provide commercially focussed legal advice to senior leaders
- Good business judgment with the ability to develop effective and pragmatic solutions to complex legal and business issues
- Willingness to get involved in the business and engage on non-legal issues where appropriate
- Ability to undertake objective and critical analysis, present logical arguments and draw sound conclusions

**Your Qualifications**:
You will hold a Bachelor of Laws and admission to practice law in Australia
