**About this role**
The primary focus of this role is to provide ecological technical advice to our clients. Time will be shared across field and office work during which the ecologist will be working independently or with others to complete ecological surveys in accordance with Government and scientific guidelines and in the office for tasks such as report writing, data processing and analysis, GIS mapping, team meetings and client meetings. Based on current and expected future projects, the role will be assisting with the design and delivery of major road, rail, water and energy projects predominantly in Queensland, but also supporting other locations across the Australasian region

**What will I do?**
- Work under mínimal supervision within a defined area of responsibility. This may include being responsible for specific parts of an ecological project or task.
- Author non-standard letters, reports and other documentation
- Represent your team or group at external meetings and you may be involved in developing events, activities and internal projects of some complexity.

**What will I bring?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science or related discipline.
- 4 + years relevant industry experience in a professional working environment, including state/local government and/or consulting.
- 4 + years relevant industry experience undertaking field work in the area of terrestrial ecology.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicability of planning and biodiversity legislation and regulations in Queensland and Australia, including the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership is desirable but not essential.
