**MCV**

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

**About the Role**

The Bench Clerk Training and Development Registrar is focused on the training and development of new trainee court registrars in their first six months with the courts. This role is critical in helping trainees develop their understanding of court operations
and the strong, consistent skills to manage courts and progress in their roles. This role includes training, observing and providing feedback to trainees and also works closely with coordinators and the Listings Manager to ensure courts run efficiently on a day to day basis.

**About You**

This role requires excellent technical skills in court operations combined with the ability to communicate clearly to explain and teach skills to new trainees. The incumbent must be able to show leadership by setting and modeling expectations within
the court and have the communication skills and patience to teach, explain and provide feedback to trainees to aid in their development. This includes performance plans, discussions about improvement strategies and managing probation meetings and reports with new trainees.
