**The Opportunity**:
You will be based in one of our main offices, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, leading our national team, with the opportunity for regular travel to support our teams and clients. **The Role**:
Reporting to the Chief General Counsel, the Head of Risk, Compliance and Ethics will lead GB’s national team of risk compliance and audit professionals, driving risk management strategy, engaging with operational divisions, the executive leadership teams and the Board of Directors. A key focus is the continuous improvement of the risk management framework.
Key accountabilities include:
- Driving the program of work to continuously improve the risk management strategy;
- Advancing the development, implementation, maintenance of risk and compliance methodologies, policies and procedures, including enterprise wide and divisional risk profiles;
- Leading the award-winning Ethics Program (World’s Most Ethical Companies 11 years running) and the AU/NZ Global ESG Program, in collaboration with US and UK Gallagher colleagues;
- Chairing of the Risk Management Committee and Key Advisor to the Board Compliance and Audit Committee;
- Developing and overseeing risk-based, client-focused and value-adding risk and compliance frameworks including delivery of audit activity, reporting to regulatory bodies, track and report on progress of the business performance against agreed audit action plans / risk management strategies and improvement opportunities, risk profiling, development of risk appetite metrics and reporting, oversight of external audits and incidents/complaints, assessing potential fraud risks and develop fraud protection tools.
- Building strong working relationships as a key liaison with clients, external auditors, senior leadership team and risk governing bodies.
- An experienced, compassionate leader who can foster a positive team culture and growth learning environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading and embedding a quality improvement and positive, risk-aware culture;
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of organisation;
- Strong analytical, interpreting and reporting skills; including excellent problem-solving skills, able to interpret complex regulatory policy and establish solutions for implementation and adoption;
- Tertiary qualifications in a commercial discipline such as commerce, finance, accounting, law or equivalent;
- Post graduate qualifications or certification in risk or compliance would be highly regarded;
