As the Collaboration Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the CSIRO University Engagement Team which is responsible for building connections with senior university staff and CSIRO executives. The team assist with the flow of information between CSIRO and universities for strategic science objectives, including the federal government’s University Research Commercialisation programs (for example, Industrial PhDs and the innovation program ON), and to support the CSIRO Chief Scientist (and other members of the CSIRO Executive team as needed) to develop and nurture connections into the university system.

You will add value to the more complex collaborations that our researchers undertake by providing an advisory service and developing tools and resources to enhance the effectiveness of existing and new collaborations. Have a positive impact by promoting research leaders to explore new ways for CSIRO and university research teams to work more effectively together.

This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity, you will Influence team strategic and financial planning and reporting, develop executive briefings, lead and contribute to developing case studies evaluating collaboration. Your role will cultivate success as you mentor internal staff on building and maintaining partnerships with universities and contribute to keeping the team abreast of changes in the external environment, especially in the Higher Education sector.

The position will support and deputise the Executive Manager of University Engagement

**Your duties will include**:

- Gather, synthesise, and analyse a broad range of internal and external information to develop robust qualitative and quantitative insights and recommended solutions for our Business Unit leaders and the CSIRO executive.
- Support and mentor internal stakeholders to enhance or develop more effective relationships with universities to enable them to achieve better outcomes for CSIRO’s strategic programs.
- Work with our team and the Indigenous Science and Engagement Team to co-ordinate a common approach to working with universities to achieve a variety of strategic objectives.
- Support key organisation level partnerships in the university sector through building and maintaining trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**Location**:Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane preferred. Other locations are negotiable.

**Salary**:AU$117k - AU$138k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:

- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant business, science, social science, technology or engineering discipline that includes significant experience in analysing and synthesising information or demonstrated equivalent training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with the Higher Education sector or Research sector with a highly developed ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels including senior.
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to build and manage resilient working relationships across large organisations and diverse stakeholder groups to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Experience managing programs, line management of staff, and mentoring to build collaborative capability in other teams.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work within a multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed team environment, and to work independently - managing and prioritising competing tasks to flexibly achieve strategic outcomes.
- Ability to gather, synthesise and analyse a broad range of internal and external information to develop robust, quantitative insights and recommended solutions for executive leaders.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills including high quality MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
