**Your Key Accountabilities will include**:

- Provide high level, accurate word processing using digital dictation software;
- Assist in the preparation of a range of documents including briefs for Counsel, legal correspondence and/or material for provision to Courts and Tribunals, including research, formatting and proof-reading;
- Coordinate the flow of correspondence and other records through the Office, including retention and disposal and status updates utilising relevant information management systems;
- File documents in various Courts, Tribunals and Commissions including the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates, District, Supreme and High Courts;
- Actively monitor the payment of legal expenses, costs orders and Counsel fees including liaising with courts and internal clients;
- Provide reception and secretarial support to the office including coordinating travel (including expenses), organising meetings, taking minutes and managing incoming calls and visitors;
- Advise and consult with internal and external clients on office administrative procedures and requests, including legally privileged, confidential and sensitive issues;
- Assist with the induction of new staff within the Office and train and mentor other Legal Support Officers;
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and review of office systems and procedures, including information management systems and whole-of-practice issues

The Commissioner of Police has issued a directive in relation to mandatory Covid-19 vaccination and mask requirements for Police Officers and Staff members. As of 7 December 2021 all applicants to the Queensland Police Service must: (a) receive at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine prior to their commencement with the QPS; and(b) receive a second dose of COVID-19 vaccine within 48 hours of becoming eligible to do so;(c) receive a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine no more than one month after they become eligible to do so, in accordance with ATAGI's advice on the use of a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine at that time, or if already eligible to do so, no more than one month after the date of this direction; and(d) show or provide evidence of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine (including a booster if eligible) to the relevant line Manager prior to commencing with the QPS.
