**ABOUT THIS ROLE**

Our client is currently looking for a Security Officer who will be responsible for the planning and coordinating of information security, risk, and governance with an emphasis on cyber security. You will be responsible for ensuring the security of IT support services, processes, and infrastructure. You will be operating within the Defence space and their activities. You will be required to maintain a strong level or compliance to enable competency, seek new methods to reduce costs, improve responsiveness and optimise processes and policy.

**ABOUT THE COMPANY**

You will be working within an innovative and highly secure facility that is compliant with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) requirements. The facility you will be working within hold multiple data centres which is protected by physical and information security measures. You will be working under the direction of the Chief Security Officer.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain strict compliance, security oversight and active measures to protect the autonomy and activities of the facility.
- Implement and follow policies and procedures related to the IT Security compliance.
- Mitigate system security threats/risks.
- Provide advice and guidance to ensure compliance to the information security policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
- Establish and implement system security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures.
- Undertake planned scheduled maintenance and checks.
- Provide day-to-day security support for facility space users, including but not limited to access clearance and passes, checking of incoming personnel and equipment.

**SKILLS & EXPERINECE NEEDED**
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably an NV2.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Defence sector.
- Able to conduct and advise on security risk assessments and system certifications.
- An understanding of security frameworks and standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of governance documentation including security risk assessments, breach reporting, incident management and security reporting.
- Experience in a defence or defence industry setting with knowledge of defence security.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build relationships.
