**About The Role**:
As a Therapeutic Support Worker (Intensive Therapeutic Care), you will provide tailored care and support to our client, fostering independence and well-being. In this permanent part-time role, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised care and support to a young person with significant disability who has a lived experience of complex trauma. This role is best suited for someone who has training and experience in working with complex disability and exposure to behaviours that challenge.

This role is also best suited for someone who has a great sense of humour, is active, enjoys exercise such as hiking/walking and playing various sports.

As the successful applicant, your responsibilities will include:

- Promoting and supporting positive relationships and connection for the young person with family, culture and community
- Encouraging and supporting the young person to achieve their goals, build confidence and independence while promoting choice and control
- Assisting with personal cares and hygiene supports
- Assisting with medication
- Actively facilitating and participating in play-based activities which are purposeful to foster development and engagement with the young person
- Ability to effectively engage and build rapport with key stakeholders and implement recommendations, interventions and plans into practice
- Role modeling important capacity building skills to young people diagnosed with disability, complex needs and behaviours.
- Providing supports in line with positive behaviour support plans, protocols, risk management plans and utilizing therapeutic interventions to ensure the safety of the young person during events of escalation and crisis
- Advocating for the rights and needs of the young people
- Acting as a mentor and role model, providing guidance and support in developing healthy interpersonal relationships
- Documenting comprehensive progress notes and incident reporting
- Completing service administration tasks within timeframes as per Lifestyle Solutions guidelines
- Following transportation and community access guidelines when accessing community for recreational, medical, family contact and educational support needs
- Assisting with tasks to provide a clean and tidy home environment

**About You**:
We are looking for individuals who are passionate in supporting young people with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with autism and complex trauma
- Experience in trauma-informed care and person-centred care
- Ability to manage restrictive behaviors with patience, empathy and compassion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an understanding of nonverbal cues such as body language, facial expressions, gestures and emotions
- An interest in the outdoors and willingness to join imaginative explorer in fun filled activities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with the ability to express ideas, thoughts and information clearly.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities
- Ability to be patient and have empathy during crisis events
- Essential qualifications include a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver’s license, proof of covid vaccination and a suitable minimum qualification, lived experience or be eligible for a traineeship._
