Great new opportunity for an experienced Outpatient Nursing Services Manager to manage the recruitment and retention of our nursing staff across the MQ Health Clinics.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Nursing Services Manager to manage the recruitment and allocation of nursing resourcing across the MQ Health Clinics to ensure good governance, flexible, responsive and highly effective service provision within budget, and effective management to ensure attraction and retention of high-quality nursing staff.
The Outpatient Nursing Services Manager is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective nursing services and for collaboratively developing and maintaining clinical service models that integrate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes. They ensure the delivery of high-quality outpatient nursing care in accordance with legislative requirements and professional guidelines.
The role will promote a culture that embraces best practice and identifies, evaluates, and incorporates appropriate emerging trends in the practice of the clinical disciplines within their unit.

Key Accountabilities include:
Leadership and Management- Act as a role model within the organisation by providing professional leadership and modelling the values of MQ Health.- Provide effective, efficient coordination of clinical services for patients of MQ Health clinics throughout the continuum of care.- Work collaboratively to ensure that staff education and training needs are achieved.- Provide leadership to all nursing staff in the team to support their professional growth, development and integration into the multi-disciplinary care team.- Provide leadership in the development and evaluation of models of care for patients in primary care and other outpatient services.- Provide leadership in evaluating work practices and influencing positive change for models of care.- Participate in relevant leadership committees and forums representing the interests of the outpatient nursing and providing feedback to staff.- Develop and facilitate strategies to build and maintain a cohesive clinical team to support collaborative, patient focused care
Operational performance- Ensure daily allocation of work for nursing staff in outpatient services is commensurate with their abilities and scope of practice.- Liaise with Clinic Directors and Practice Managers about effectiveness of the service.- Communicate to Clinic Directors and managers instances of inappropriate practice and any other issues that affect the efficiency of outpatient nursing services.- Manage nursing staff leave, overtime and other allowances.- Develop models to allow cross cover and service continuity during periods of absence.
- Coordinate audits and quality improvement activities as needed.
Communication- Maintain open and effective communication with other clinicians and staff.- Ensure there is negotiation with the multidisciplinary team for timely patient care.- Support and promote the establishment of effective communication mechanisms between patients and the multidisciplinary team.- Maintain open and effective communication with patients.- Provide support to distressed patients in a prompt and effective manner.- Identify and escalate patient complaints appropriately to manage the risk.- Maintain progressive and effective documentation in accordance with industrial
