The Legal Adviser works closely with the Senior Legal Adviser in performing their role and provides client-focused high level, specialist legal and strategic advice and support to Comcare staff to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
The Legal Adviser will manage a small team that has responsibility for Comcare’s obligations under various statutory processes and is responsible for:

- legal research, analysis and evaluation, preparing reports and providing advice in administrative law areas including Privacy and FOI
- processing routine and complex FOI requests and privacy matters
- nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clients, service providers, licensees and premium payers
- meeting required deadlines, including statutory deadlines on a range of administrative matters
- supporting continuous improvement and change management.

Qualifications/Experience
Mandatory
- Undergraduate degree in law.
- Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory or ability to be admitted within three months of commencement.
- Current Practising Certificate or ability to obtain one within three months of commencement.
