Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced **Head of Legal Services** to provide leadership and strategic direction across core legal and corporate services functions. Reporting to the Chief Corporate & Community Officer, this role is critical in enhancing organisational performance, governance, and service delivery while mitigating risk. **About the Role**:
As the Head of Legal Services, you will:

- Lead key corporate functions, including Procurement & Contracts, Legal Services, Records Management, and Governance and Risk.
- Develop, implement, and refine policies, procedures, templates, and innovations to improve organisational performance and service delivery.
- Provide critical legal guidance, aligning legal and business strategies to support organisational goals.
- Serve as a catalyst for innovation, a strategist for value creation, a guardian of legal and regulatory matters, and an operator optimising legal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive leadership, culture, strategy, and performance based on corporate values and direction.
- Build a high-performance culture that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

**About You**

To excel in this role, you will bring:

- Bachelor of Law from an accredited tertiary institution.
- Experience and tertiary qualifications in Business, Leadership, or a related field are desirable.
- Proven expertise in Governance and Risk Management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex programs and projects.
- Strategic thinker with extensive experience in policy formulation and high-level policy advice.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Knowledge and experience working with government departments and navigating complex legal and regulatory environments.
- Excellent organisation and people skills, with corporate management expertise.
- Sound understanding of risk, audit, and compliance requirements in a local government context.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships internally and externally.
