**About the role**

This position is a full time role leading a team that monitors, investigates and resolves regulatory matters in the areas of public and environment health and safety, and is based at the Moruya Administration Office.

Your main duties will include:

- Coordinate the environmental health and regulatory services teams to improve productivity and work outcomes including training, monitoring of staff performance and grant and budget management.
- Respond to the most complex complaints and oversee and coordinate customer requests.
- Coordinate and oversee compliance matters.
- Develop and implement programs to ensure monitoring and compliance with standards is achieved.
- Develop and coordinate public and environmental monitoring programs.
- Provide strategic guidance, technical advice and direction in policy within the public, environmental health & safety and regulatory service areas.

**About you**

You will have well-developed leadership and management skills, ensuring the teams work cooperatively, strategically, and safely to improve productivity and work outcomes. As a strong communicator, it is essential you can mediate, negotiate outcomes, and communicate at both general and technical levels with a wide variety of audiences.

If you are tech savvy and have a tertiary degree qualification in science, environmental health, regulatory services or environmental law (or equivalent), this could be the role for you. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
Detailed knowledge of the relevant Acts and Regulations relevant to public and environmental health, ranger services, planning, and built environment.
- High level of demonstrated experience in undertaking compliance and enforcement activities in the areas of environment health & safety, regulatory ranger services, planning, building and development services.
- Practical experience in developing and implementing inspection programs.
- Experience in environmental monitoring and knowledge of field and laboratory testing procedures.

**Salary Information**

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $122,261.63 to $134,306.70 gross per annum consisting of:

- $109,651.69 to $120,454.44 base salary
- $12,609.94 to $13,852.26 superannuation (at 11.5%)
- When required by Council, participation in an on call roster is part of this position. An allowance is paid when on call._
- A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is available with this position._
- _A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check._
- _Medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position._
