**Position purpose**: (a short statement of the contribution the position makes to the company)

The Hydraulic Designer role is a working designer who has a sound knowledge in the Hydraulics discipline, has proficient skills in Revit/CAD and is actively furthering their development. They will keep track of their skillset and identify areas of improvement, seeking opportunities to address these areas.

The Hydraulic Designer will be responsible for working in project teams, either as a Lead Designer for small projects or within a team of Hydraulic Engineers for larger and more complex projects.

The Hydraulic Designer will work autonomously, managing their own workload and being flexible to adapt to varying deadlines, scope and priorities.

**Main Activities and Responsibilities**: (including but not limited to)

- Comply with all role specific Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) obligations.

- Read and understand project briefs and BIM execution plans for medium to large projects and delivering on requirements within

- Assist with preparation of briefs, BIM execution plans and technical reports for small to medium projects

- Proficient level use of 2D and 3D CAD software and standards to develop hydraulic designs

- Coordinating with engineers and other BIM team members including team members located in Manila

- Lead BIM administration on small to medium projects across all disciplines

- Importing architect and other consultant models for use by our teams

- Undertake clash detection and 3D Coordination and take lead to resolve issues

- Attention to quality including seeking quality reviews and undertaking self-checks

- Work collaboratively with members of other disciplines to prepare coordinated designs

- Work collaboratively with design partners such as architects by written and verbal advice

- Meet with suppliers to stay across latest products, offerings and innovations including seeking advice on projects where necessary

- Responsible for quality of documentation including self-checking own work

- Responsible for seeking and facilitating quality reviews of all work prior to external issue

- Attend site to undertake audits or site inspection reports

- Communicates effectively with team members, peers and external clients and delivery partners

**Qualifications** (Minimum and Desirable):
- Certificate III or IV in Plumbing Services (Desirable)

Associate Diploma or Diploma in drafting or work-based experience.

**Experience, skills and organisational knowledge**

- Typically, 2-5 years’ experience in drafting and detailing skills

- Knowledge of relevant systems, procedures and practices.

- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards

- Aware of organisational approach to risk management, ethics and safety.

- Develops an understanding of WSP's organisational capability and how to access it.

- Developing technical skills across a broad range of areas within discipline.

- Basic understanding of all building services disciplines.

- Proficient use of BIM software, how to use and review models and appreciation of multidisciplinary BIM process.

- Developing capacity to deliver best client outcomes/options which have saved the client cost/time.

- Developing experience in managing client relations and expectations.

- Working skills in managing workload and meeting deadlines including working autonomously.

- Actively contribute to team workload and planning exercise and respond to changing deliverables, priorities and deadlines
