**About the role**

The Early Career Research Fellow will be responsible for:

- Conducting focused research aligned to the strategic priorities of CCQ and the Viertel Cancer Research Centre (CRC).
- The position requires the Early Career Research Fellow to work closely with other researchers within and external to CCQ as well as team members from other CCQ departments.

This role is Fixed-Term (2 years) and Full-time (37.5 hours per week).

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have to:

- Actively contribute to the conduct and coordination of cancer research projects and
- where appropriate, contribute to other health research initiatives at the CRC as
- directed.
- Manage day-to-day operation of cancer research projects which may include management of project budgets and reporting as appropriate.
- collaboration with the Manager (Health Systems and Behavioural Research)
- Publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
- Present results in various formats and arenas, including scientific and policy
- publications and presentations to academic and other audiences.
- Foster and participate in multidisciplinary research alliances and collaborative
- projects with research partners and national and international collaborators.

**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**

**Essential Skills**:

- Completing a postgraduate degree in a health-related field (applicants with exclusively bio-medical degrees need not apply).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated experience in research project coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment is essential.
- Ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a positive, focused and timely manner and the ability to address issues as they arise.
- Highly developed time management skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.

**Desirable Skills**:

- Experience conducting research in the areas of psychology/behavioural science, public health, cancer survivorship, health promotion, and/or health services.
- Demonstrated experience publishing research in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.
- Data analysis skills with demonstrated experience in using statistical Software packages including SPSS, R, Stata and/or Mplus.
- Experience conducting qualitative research (e.g., interview studies).
