**The Role**

No day is the same, the Youth Worker role involves providing direct supervision and care to those who are under the age of 18.

As a Youth Worker, you are required to provide support children and young people through developing life skills, fostering appropriate relationships with others and being a positive role model.

Some responsibilities include:

- Implement and follow the individual's care plan
- Create and support a routine through assisting and supervising with daily care, wake-up and bedtime routine, chores, laundry, meal preparation and homework
- Assist individuals in engaging their culture and local communities through recreational activities and programs
- Engage with individuals that will develop and increase their life skills
- Provide written reports through progress notes and report writing
- Support the involvement and facilitate contact with family, assist in developing and maintaining family relationships

**Essential Criteria**:

- Understanding of child protection legislation
- Ability to write sound reports
- Language proficiency
- Ability to work unsupervised and part of a team
- Relevant qualification (minimum Certificate IV)
- Minimum 6-month experience as a Youth Worker or related field
- WWCC (paid work)
- National Police check
- All staff must have a current Police Check, WWCC, First Aid & CPR and ABN. A driver's license and car is required._

**Salary**: $34.00 - $66.00 per hour
