This is a newly created Cyber Security Manager position within an established Aussie financial services company who have recently begun a significant Security uplift program. As the 2IC to the Head of Cyber Security, you will develop and own the strategy, as well as run the Cyber Resilience steering committee and own projects end to end. Utilise your cyber skills, including your strong detection, prevention and response skills and to grow as a cyber security leader.

Excellent chance for senior Security professionals with aspirations to work towards the executive suite as you will be engaging with C level on a regular basis and operate at a strategic level. The ability to communicate technical terminology into business risks is essential and your communication style should be collaborative to see you successful in the position.

**Day-to-day**:

- Being the driving force behind the Cyber Resilience Steering Committee
- Evaluating the group’s security needs and establish best practices and standards accordingly
- Planning and deploying improvements to improve overall cyber security maturity
- Reviewing and implementing recommendation and improvements from security audits
- Owning a range of cyber security projects end to end that contribute to
- Managing security vendors/suppliers

**Desired experience & skills**:

- Experience reporting at executive level
- A background in governance risk & compliance (GRC)
- Previous tenure in cyber security management is preferred
- Sound understanding of cyber security technology and trends
- Ability to communicate with influence across a wide range of senior stakeholders
- Experience in the financial services industry is favourable but not essential
