** **The Opportunity**

The National Security TAFE Centre of Excellence builds knowledge, skills, and processes to develop Australia’s sovereign capability and ensure its capacity to build sovereign manufacturing, digital and technology capabilities, and enhance and protect Australia’s national security.

The **Manager, Communications and Engagement** is responsible for leading the strategic communications and engagement efforts that support the work of the National Security TAFE Centre of Excellence.

You will develop and oversee comprehensive consultation, communication and engagement strategies that effectively convey the importance of workforce development and the goals of the Centre of Excellence, ensuring alignment with broader government objectives and public expectations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and mentor the Communications and Engagement team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative and productive work environment.
- Lead the planning and execution of all consultation, communications and engagement strategies to support the Centre of Excellence objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, sector partners, peak bodies, and the media.
- Provide expert advice and communication services to executive management, key stakeholders, and staff across the department on complex and critical communication matters by identifying opportunities and mitigating risk.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing internal, external and community engagement processes for large, complex projects and issues.
- Extensive working knowledge at a high level of communications, public relations, media and stakeholder engagement strategies, principles and techniques and associated strategic planning processes, tools and publication methods.
- Proven ability to manage the provision of consultancy and advisory services to management, staff and stakeholders at all levels, and to maintain integrity in dealing with sensitive issues.
- Extensive experience in communications strategic planning, and proven experience in journalism, public relations, industry engagement or media liaison at a senior level.

**What You Need to Know**

A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the South Australian Department of Human Services is required before employment.
