**About the role**

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Catering Assistant to join our team at KASSA. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a culturally respectful and community-focused environment by supporting the preparation and service of nutritious meals to our guests.

In this role, you’ll assist with meal preparation, portioning, and delivery while ensuring a clean and hygienic kitchen in line with food safety standards. You’ll help maintain kitchen equipment, follow cleaning schedules, store food safely, and dispose of waste correctly.

**About you**

You’ll have experience working in a hostel/hotel catering environment and have the ability to work with and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

In addition, you will also possess:

- A high level of customer service and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to resolve client/staff issues in an empathetic and sensitive manner
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
