Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking a Peer Worker to join the headspace Platform — a service dedicated to supporting young people experiencing mental health challenges. Peer Workers play a vital role in offering guidance, empathy, and hope, drawing on their own lived experience to help others navigate their path to recovery.

**About the Role**

Draw on and share your personal experience with mental health challenges, as well as your journey in gaining and maintaining employment or further study, to support young people through peer-based support. Working under the guidance of the Individual Placement & Support Program (IPS) Vocational Specialists, you'll provide support that aligns with each young person's individual vocational and recovery goals.

Working hours are Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 5.00pm

**About You**
- Evidence of personal experience as a consumer of mental health services and of ongoing recovery with an ability to utilise that lived experience to support others appropriately with their own mental health recovery journey.
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake the role without undue negative impact on your mental health through planning and implementing effective strategies to maintain wellness.
- Ability to communicate warmly and effectively with young people, their families and a diverse range of health and community service providers, employers and educational institutions.
- Demonstrated clear written and verbal communication skills including competent use of range of Microsoft office programs and other information technology.
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent or commitment to undertake within agreed timescale and willingness to participate in relevant training and supervision for youth peer workers.
- Evidence of a current Class C drivers’ licence and/or ability and willingness to travel for work purpose
