**Position Objective**
The Casework Support Officer is a position which focuses on documentation. Casework Support Officers focus on meeting administrative standards of the State’s regulatory standards (Office of Children’s Guardian, Permanency and Support Plan, Human Service Standards, National Standards for Disability Services). Casework Support Officers organise and complete documentation in alignment with Allambi’s Needs Based Restorative Framework and the Child or Young person’s individual permanency goals.
**Position Summary**
The role of the Casework Support Officer requires skills in attention to detail, time management, autonomy and sound knowledge of the State’s regulatory standards.
The Casework Support Officer has an integral role in accurately capturing information discussed during care team meetings, case conferences, individual service planning meetings and translating these into individual Case Plan goals for children, young people and participants. The Casework Support Officer ensures up to date communication through documentation between stakeholders. The Casework Support Officer is also responsible for liaising directly with internal and external stakeholders.

Professional competencies and skills required
- Experience in working with children, young people and participants with complex and difficult emotional and behavioural issues, within a residential care context.
- An understanding of the impact of trauma on children, and their families.
- Theoretical understandings of attachment and trauma informed care.
- An understanding of physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities.
- Knowledge of the Child Protection Act, Official Children’s Guardian standards, Permanency and Support Plan, Human Services Standards and National Disability Service Standards.
- Knowledge of the legal and ethical guidelines governing requirements for mandatory reporting
- Ability to use collaborative practice principles when working with other stakeholders.
- Understanding of screening, intake, transition and exit assessment procedures.
- Skills to engage with the family members of the children, young people and participants, work with families, and assist in the maintenance of appropriate family relationships.
- Skills and strategies to manage the safety of children, young people and participants, and staff, through attention to detail, ability to manage risk, and report all concerns or incidents as per Allambi policy and procedure.
- Ability to manage client files in compliance with Allambi policy and procedure, contractual and statutory requirements.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding the child, young person’s or participant’s information and that of their family.
- Willingness to work within Allambi Workplace Health and Safety policy and procedure, as well as WHS legislation, and report all hazards and incidents.
- Willingness to implement all Allambi policies and procedures, particularly in relation to maintaining the residential house, all files and other paperwork.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, to complete the Case Plans and other essential reports and forms, in a timely manner.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to perform concise and accurate data entry
- Ability to work autonomously with a high level of attention to detail
