As a Community Compliance Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of the Shire’s Community Compliance programs. Your ability to remain calm and objective, with excellent communication skills, will enhance the amenity and safety of our community by ensuring community compliance with the Shire’s Local Laws, and relevant State Government Acts and Regulations.

**About the Role**

Baw Baw Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our thriving Community Compliance team. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out all duties associated with animal management, and the protection of the municipal amenity in line with the Shire’s Local Law and other relevant legislation.
- Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance (Government) or Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation or qualify within 12 months.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local government regulatory and statutory requirements, investigation, resolution and enforcement processes or proven ability to develop the required knowledge within a short time.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations, gather evidence, prepare briefs of evidence and represent an organisation at court proceedings.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to make realistic and sound decisions.
- Demonstrated experience dealing with people and a proven ability to remain calm and objective in stressful situations.
- A current Victorian driver’s licence is essential
