**The opportunity**:
WSP, an award winning and innovative multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking a full time **Sustainability Consultant** to join our **Brisbane** office. Our team work closely with architects, owners, and teams throughout WSP to advance sustainability, health, and resilience goals on large, complex projects around the world.

We are looking for someone that is interested to be involved across all aspects of sustainability consultancy from developing high level conceptual project strategies, to delivering against defined requirement, to verifying performance outcomes in operation.

The Australian sustainability team provides a broad range of services including sustainability strategy development, goal setting and workshop facilitation, high-performance design and analysis, building certifications, neighborhood-scale solutions, Net Zero training and education, and performance verification. We work across a wide range of project types and scales, from horizontal planning and district infrastructure to vertical design and construction, to ongoing performance and operations.

We come from a diverse background including engineers, architects, renewable energy specialists, environmental scientists and economists. We work across all WSP’s sectors and projects of varying scales including projects like Queen’s Wharf, Brisbane’s Green Bridges program, Herston Quarter, several Build to Rent schemes and the new Women’s and Children’s Hospital (SA). Our clients are private, government, not for profits and institutional.

Our portfolio of work currently includes a broad mix of project types:

- Advisory work for organizations
- Design and delivery for buildings and transport infrastructure
- Precinct and campus master planning
- Existing building portfolio ratings and advisory work

**Your Impact**:

- Assist with energy and life cycle assessment modelling and building performance analysis activities to achieve established performance targets, Green Star certification, code compliance, and other energy performance goals
- Utilize energy modelling tools to complete carbon modelling and develop net zero carbon roadmaps
- Interpret climate information and building use typologies to inform building design strategies
- Write reports detailing analysis activities and design advice
- Liaise internally to facilitate the achievement of project sustainability objectives
- Review building documentation for the integration of high-performance design aspects
- Provide Green Star strategy and advice

- Background in sustainability, building design, high-performance design analytics and green building certifications
- Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication
- Passionate about learning from, mentoring, and supporting individuals across WSP’s national sustainability team

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Engineering, Environmental Science, Architecture or equivalent sustainability related discipline
- 2+ years’ industry experience as a Sustainability Consultant or similar role
- Experience working on Green Star projects
- Ability to independently read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of mechanical system architecture and components
- Experience with IES-VE or similar modelling software
- Understanding in sustainability and climate change compliance and policy requirements

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Green Star Accredited Professional
- Demonstrated experience undertaking detailed Material Life Cycle Assessments using relevant software (i.e e-tool)
- Knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper or other programming langu
