The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border and the resilience of our national infrastructure.
The Australian Border Force, an operationally independent body within the Department of Home Affairs, is Australia's frontline border law enforcement agency and Australia's customs service. The Australian Border Force's mission is to protect Australia's border and facilitate the legitimate movement of people and goods across it.
**What are the jobs?**
We have multiple positions to fill at the APS5 level in Citizenship Division.
APS5 roles in Citizenship Division work with stakeholders across the Department and with external agencies and service delivery partners to support the delivery of key priorities for the Citizenship Program. Roles may include:
- Conducting analysis of program systems, data, trends, risks, policies or business processes, to support consideration of additional capability enhancements, integrity measures or policy proposals.
- Developing tailored communication products based on your analysis.
- Providing advice on the Citizenship Program to key internal or external stakeholders, and escalating more complex enquires where required.
- Managing and updating program records and guidance, to ensure information is current and relevant, and usefully aids future decision-making.

**About Citizenship Division**:
- **Citizenship Policy Branch** is responsible for supporting and promoting the Government’s policy agenda on Australian citizenship, and delivering related legislative and policy changes. Citizenship Policy Branch supports the creation, sustainment and promotion of social cohesion in the Australian community, contributing to one of the Government’s key objectives - ‘keeping Australians together’. Citizenship Policy Branch consists of Citizenship Policy and Legislation Section, and Citizenship Ceremonies Section.

**The Citizenship Ceremonies Section **is responsible for leading the central coordination, management and guidance of citizenship ceremonies nationally, and the planning and execution of high profile citizenship ceremonies. The Section works closely with the National Australia Day Council, local government authorities, and Departmental officers located across Australia.
The APS5 officers in the Citizenship Ceremonies Section is responsible for monitoring and responding to requests, providing citizenship ceremony advice to key stakeholders, and supporting the broader section on key priorities including high profile ceremonies and assurance processes.
