Export Control Officer - Canberra
Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) - Maritime and Maintenance
Are you ready to play a key role in ensuring compliance with international trade controls in a dynamic defence environment? We are seeking an Export Control Officer to join our small but high-impact team. You will support priority acquisition and sustainment programs while contributing to broader organisational trade control efforts.
**What you’ll do**:
Provide expert support to a range of programs, ensuring compliance with trade control obligations.
Analyse and interpret legislation and policy across regimes such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Arms Export Control Act, Defence Trade Controls Act, and European legislation.
Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders, managing sensitive information with discretion.
Balance competing priorities while communicating clearly and confidently.
**What we’re looking for**:
Experience providing support services to programs.
Strong skills in legislative and policy analysis.
Understanding of trade control and export control frameworks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
