**About the role**

The Team Leader-Lead Supervisor of the Functional Family Therapy - Child Welfare High Track (FFT-CW HT) program will lead a team of 4 Therapists across Metropolitan Sydney to ensure services are delivered with fidelity to the model in an effective and culturally appropriate way.

The program is an evidence-based family preservation program designed to provide services to young people (0-18 years old) and their families in child protection settings. FFT-CW HTaims to improve family dynamics, while decreasing risks of harm to reduce the number of children entering care. An integrated approach, it incorporates theory, clinical practice and evidence-based research.

Leading a dedicated team of Family Therapists, you will provide clear, fair and focused leadership, and professional supervision. Working closely with the model developers, The New York Foundling, you will ensure the team have training and practice support and are adhering to the model. As a the Lead Supervisor, you will hold a case load of 4 families.

**Duties**:

- Provide regular supervision to Therapists with a particular focus on child and/or family safety, review of session notes and clinical practice within the model, ensuring professional development plans are in place for each Therapist.
- Work in collaboration and alongside the Manager, to ensure high performance standards across the team and navigating staffing challenges as they may arise.
- Facilitate weekly team clinical supervision (FFT Staffing) - to monitor adherence to the model and facilitate peer-to-peer learning.
- Carry a half caseload of 4 families.
- Monitor and evaluate the team's outcomes with families in consultation with external FFT-CW consultant.

**Skills and Requirements**

Essential:

- You will have at least 5 year’s experience in the children protection field
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology or related discipline
- Good management skills including troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines and conflict resolution.
- ** People Leadership** - experience building/maintaining an engaged, high performing team and developing their capability
- **Practice Leadership** - a passion for continuous improvement and implementing industry best practice into service delivery
- **Flexible & Collaborative Approach** - lead this innovative team/program and engage a range of stakeholders
- Excellent understanding of child protection issues & client vulnerabilities, and the impact of trauma and the effect on child behaviour and development
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment, ever changing environment
