**Salary & Conditions**

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award 2010 Level 5.1, as agreed by the Management Committee.

**Status**

Part-time, 13 hrs per week, fixed term contract position ending 31 Dec 2027. Hours and days of work to be negotiated. Some work is required outside normal business hours as travel is a requirement of this position.

**Location**

4 Battery Square, Battery Point, Hobart.

Intrastate travel is required.

**About the role**:

- **AFW is looking to appoint**a Trainer responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions, primarily with students and youth. This role requires strong communication and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to tailor training materials and communication styles to meet the needs of various participants.
- The Trainer plays a key role in capacity-building, knowledge sharing, and program success within Tasmanian schools. A commitment to social justice and human rights principles is essential. All staff at AFW need to work well in a team, be flexible, self-motivated and willing to take on additional duties as required from time to time in a small office environment.

**Key duties**:

- **Session Delivery**: Lead and facilitate training sessions to ensure participant engagement and learning outcomes.
- **Support & Guidance**: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to learners, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- **Curriculum Development**: Assist in developing and refining training materials, in line with V9 Australian Curriculum, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
- **Administrative Duties**: Maintain training records, document participant feedback, and contribute to reporting requirements.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and leadership to align training programs with organisational goals.
- **Continuous Learning**: Stay updated on best practices in training and instructional methodologies to enhance program delivery.
- **Assist** with the development of online learning tools and creative outputs such as an eBook.

**Essential skills**:

- **Session delivery**:Experience running groups with youth.
- **Knowledge**: Lived experience of promoting equality and inclusion

**Desirable skills**:

- **Session Delivery**: Proven facilitation skills.
- **Knowledge**:A degree in education, community development; or the equivalence in work place experience.
- **Values based creativity**: Capacity to problem solving and take initiative to keep learners engaged.
- Additional role requirements_
- On commencement, the appointee must have a valid National Working with Vulnerable People Check.
- To keep children safe, DECYP have now implemented mandatory training to anybody going into a school to be with young people. Completion of safeguarding training is a requirement of this job.
- Employment will be conditional to the successful completion of a National Police Check.
