**About the opportunity**

An exciting new opportunity has become available for a talented Principal Data Analyst - Group Compliance to join a high performing team.

Reporting into the Head of Compliance, the Principal Data Analyst - Group Compliance, will provide support to the Group Compliance Hub across a range of key activities spanning data analytics, data modelling, data architecture and reporting.

This role will work collaboratively across the enterprise to help identify, organize and drive the delivery of compliance initiatives that enable Medibank to proactively manage its risks, compliance obligations, controls, actions and incidents.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Acting as the information asset owner of a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) system which captures all data relating to Medibank’s key risks, compliance obligations, controls, actions and incidents;
- Supporting the use of the GRC system across the entire Medibank group;
- Managing data security and governance in the GRC system aligned to the Governance Risk and Compliance System Data and Security Governance Procedure;
- Performing trend analysis and identifying key themes;
- Establishing regular risk and compliance reporting and dashboards for key stakeholders;
- Developing and/or enhancing process design and workflows within GRC;
- Preparation of management reporting for senior committees and forums; and
- Providing recommendations in relation to key technological advances in relation to GRC systems and if required, working with the broader information technology team to procure and implement new GRC technology (including change management and training).

**About you**:
To be successful as the Principal Data Analyst - Group Compliance, you will have:

- at least ten years’ experience in a senior data analytics / reporting role;
- a proven track record of relevant programming languages (i.e SQL and Python) will be essential;
- experience in data manipulation, analysis and visualization through the use of platform tools including:

- Relational databases (e.g. MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, HIVE, Snowflake, etc.)
- BI tools (e.g. Tableau (required), Power BI, Looker, QlikSense, etc.)
- Cloud platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
- Machine learning platforms (e.g. MS Azure-learning Studio, IBM Watson Machine Learning, etc)(desirable)
- Data science platforms (e.g. Jupyter Notebooks)(desirable)
- extensive experience in data modelling, including database design, data warehousing and database administration (including data cleansing);
- prior knowledge in data architecture with a focus on data security would be considered highly advantageous;
- experience in model building, testing, and deployment;
- experience in delivering platform transformation projects;
- a collaborative team approach with strong stakeholder management, project management experience, communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver a high-standard of work will be imperative for this role;
- experience in providing regular and ad-hoc analysis and reports which are to be provided to Board committees and the C-suite. The development of such reports requires the use of mathematical, statistical, programming and business analytic skills to visualise the data and communicate the results to describe the past and present compliance posture as well as predict future trends and risks; and
- experience in GRC platforms and risk and compliance roles would be advantageous.
