**About the Company**:
Whyte Civil Pty Ltd is a privately owned civil construction company. Our core business is civil construction along with operations and maintenance solutions. We specialize in Sydney Water pipelines, conduit installation and pit building. We are looking to fill the following position with locations in Eastern Suburbs and in Western Sydney
- Maintenance Fitter

The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance, breakdown repairs, testing and repairing of motor vehicles and the mechanical parts of trucks and other heavy vehicles and plant and equipment such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes so as to ensure mínimal down-time for vehicles and equipment.

Job Tasks and Duties:

- Checks prepared metal components for accuracy, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and rules;
- Lifts and hoists components on to working surface, lays out and marks reference points, and aligns parts using measuring instruments;
- Drills holes and taps threads for bolting parts together, and assembles parts and sub-assemblies;
- Verifies alignment of, and clearances between, components using measuring instruments;
- Cleans and lubricates assembled articles;
- Mark out stock to be shaped and formed into metal parts for other workers;
- Fit and assemble non-metallic parts;
- Test assemble articles in workshops to ensure accuracy of fit. Keep the workshop clean;
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies if required, and transmissions, the steering mechanisms or other components, and check parts;
- Repair and/or replace worn or defective parts;
- Organize inspection and maintenance of machines and plant;
- Perform hydraulic repairs to plant and machinery;
- Maintain, repair and service light vehicles;
- Attend to vehicle breakdowns on civil construction sites to ensure prompt repairs of vehicles to minimise vehicle down-time;
- Arrange for transport of vehicles requiring maintenance and repairs;
- Welding of parts and assemblies;
- Relief machinery operation duties if required;
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment;
- Adhering to strict Occupational Health and Safety requirements;
Supervision of staff.

**Experience**:

- Experience required: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications

**Salary**: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Fitter: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Strathfield South, NSW 2136 (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Strathfield South, NSW 2136: Relocate before starting work (required)
