Purchasing Officer

Tyree Industries, a dynamic and progressive Australian manufacturer located in Mittagong in the Southern Highlands of NSW, is actively seeking a motivated individual to join our purchasing team. The Role: As a member of our purchasing team, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the purchasing function, including the following tasks:

- Reviewing and addressing daily, weekly, and monthly MRP requirements
- Generating purchase orders
- Managing suppliers’ delivery, inventory, and lead time
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
- Conducting price and lead time negotiations with suppliers
- Onboarding new vendors
- Possessing a working knowledge of Bill of Materials
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
- Sourcing and supplying the most effective raw materials to maintain production schedules.
- Monitoring and maintaining delivery performance.

In addition, you will work closely with the Procurement Manager, purchasing team, and Warehouse Manager. You be assigned other related tasks as dictated by company needs.
- Previous experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend complex Bill of Materials
- Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders and achieve favourable commercial outcomes.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Desirable attributes that the successful applicant may possess:

- Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Syspro ERP/MRP system (preferred but not essential).
- Access to own transportation.
- Strong customer focus.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously while efficiently completing tasks.
- Adaptability to work effectively within a team environment.
