Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking an event professional to work as part of a venue team, safely and effectively facilitating client event activity within Museums Victoria venues in line with established event documentation.
The position is accountable for ensuring the effective installation, execution and de-installation of client events, in line with customer expectations, agreed contractual terms, and relevant industry, venue and legal regulations.
The role is a hands on physical role, facilitating safe and effective event activity from a venue perspective.

**ABOUT MUSEUM VICTORIA**:
Museum Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.

**ABOUT THE POSITION**:
**The primary responsibilities of the Venue Coordinator are**:

- Implement and review customised event documentation including but not limited to floor plans, event orders, licensee and exhibitor manuals, and venue standard operating procedure; communicate relevant event information throughout the event;
- Monitor and facilitate activities within each event venue and surrounding precinct to ensure clients and contractors are working in a manner within Occupational Health and Safety requirements providing a safe environment including acting as Chief, Deputy or Area Warden for emergency evacuations; Ensure any risks and incidents are reported in the appropriate manner;
- Work with the operations team, clients, contractors and visitors to coordinate the resolution of operational issues, at times without direct supervision and be a first point of contact (as directed), ensuring client satisfaction without compromising safety or security and in line with standard operating procedures;
- Monitor the special requirements of each venue to ensure damage is minimised and the condition of the building is maintained. Complete basic maintenance and repair tasks as required;
- Oversee the event-specific venue related services (e.g. car parking, kiosk, telecommunications, audio visual, equipment hire, utilities connections and specialist products/services;) during hire licence periods to ensure client satisfaction and compliance with Museums Victoria policies and procedures.
- Operate lifting equipment such as scissor lift, forklift and knuckle boom;
- Enhance the client relationship at every opportunity by delivering consistent and continuous levels of service during the hire licence period;
- Ensure the completion of event related documentation such as, but not limited to; event checklists, event reports, incident reports, maintenance reports and compliance reports;
- Comply with Museums Victoria's policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations and ensure Occupational Health & Safety standards are reinforced and maintained.

**Note**: The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a casual position, with rotating shifts on a 24 hour, 7 day a week roster. The successful applicant must have both weekend and weekday availability.

**Museums Victoria operates from five locations**: Immigration Museum, Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks, the Royal Exhibition Building and the Moreland Collection Store. Employees may be required to work from any of these locations.
